What Is Meruba?

Meruba is block Hebrew letters used in modern Hebrew.  While not commonly used in Ladino, many pre-WWII printed Ladino materials (such as books, forms and other printed documents) were printed entirely or predominately Meruba.  However, the vast majority of printed materials appeared in Rashi.

In the below chart, which can be found at Ladino Chart, you can see an example of the Hebrew letters written in Meruba.
